Thanks. I don't think that's him. His son would have been born approx 1850 in w.Ky. I only have information that he came through Ky and can't seem to get further back. I appreciate the help though. -----Original Message----- From: Carolyn690@aol.com [mailto:Carolyn690@aol.com] Sent: Tuesday, September 03, 2002 12:31 PM To: TAYLOR-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TAYLOR] Re: TAYLOR-D Digest V02 #240 In a message dated 8/29/02 11:36:29 PM Eastern Daylight Time, TAYLOR-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: > > X-Message: #10 > Date: Thu, 29 Aug 2002 20:24:55 -0500 > From: "Dysons" <dymusico@hcis.net> > To: TAYLOR-L@rootsweb.com > Message-ID: <MBBBJIHBKJNMACBOIDJOMEPHDNAA.dymusico@hcis.net> > Subject: RE: [TAYLOR] [TAYLOR-L] TAYLORS/SULLIVAN & MEIGS CO TN > 1795-1880/HART CO KY ... > Content-Type: text/plain; > charset="iso-8859-1" > Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit > > Would there be a William M. I am seeking the family of John Thomas Taylor b.7/16/1842 around Rock Hill, SC. We have no further information before his marriage to Julia Nichols (and their migration to Alabama and Arkansas) other than he served in the Civil War with Julia's brother, John Jackson Nichols. Many of our older cousins remember Julia, who died in 1925, but John Thomas died in 1897. This has been a great mystery! If anyone has any clues, they would be appreciated. I visited Fairfield County and a cousin went to York County at the same time without much success. I have much information on the Taylors and Nichols families after they arrived in SE Arkansas (where most of us still live). You are probably right. Wish I had the 1900c for you! Good luck, Carleen
I honestly don't know if they are the same or not - William (according to census) was b. 1852-53 and Anna b. 1862-63. They could have conceivably been married in 1880, but probably just barely if they were. Carol, The census is found at www.huronweb.com/genweb/nf.htm . Then you go to regions, then Conception Bay North, then Harbour Grace district. The information is also available at the provincial archives in St. John's. Are your Taylors from this area?
