Hi I have a John Thomas Taylor born 9 March 1852 in Elton, Bury, Lancashire (my great great grandfather). He married Alice Ann Downs (born 9 Feb 1854) in April 1874 in Elton, Bury, Lancashire. They emigrated to USA, New Bedford, Mass. I think in the early 1900's their children Christian, Tom Gregson and Mary Jane (their sister Emma, my great grandmother stayed in UK). I have info on some of my American cousins but could do with some help. Also John Thomas' father was Nathaniel Taylor 1824-1892 who married Mary Crowther. (my great great great grandparents) They also lived in Bury, Lancashire, UK but I have no info on their parents. Any help? Helen Taylor

J; The line of our president Zachary Taylor came to America, James River Area, VA abt 1620 from Carlisle England. My Taylors came to the same place abt 1737 from Antrim, Ulster, IRE. There is a Taylor homeland on the Scots-English border about in the middle. The Taylor DNA test says mine and Zachary's Taylors are related Earl H Taylor [email protected] (909)593 2652 yahoo IM eht2060 http://www.keyway.net/~eht2060/ -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, October 13, 2004 1:39 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [TAYLOR] Robert (Scotland), LITTLE, Julia (Carlisle, England) I'm looking to connect my gggrandfather Robert TAYLOR b 1850, Scotland to his roots. Vicki, Carol, Beverly; Sounds like I should get to know you. My line Taylors came to America, Borden Tract, Augusta co. VA from Antrim, Ulster, IRE, Isaac Taylor and Isabella Wilson, they were Scots-Irish and supposed to be related to family of President Zachary Taylor whose family came to America(James River, VA) abt 1620 from Carlisle, England abt 1620. I have a second line of Taylors(From grandmother Rebecca Vickers)in Little Compton, RI Mary Taylor b 1752, daughter of Humphrey Taylor. I recently took the taylor DNA test and came out identical to Jeb Stuart Taylor who is sure he descends from Line of Zachary Taylor Earl H Taylor [email protected] (909)593 2652 yahoo IM eht2060 http://www.keyway.net/~eht2060/ -----Original Message----- From: Vickie Travis [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, October 13, 2004 12:07 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [TAYLOR] Taylor, VA Beverly: My Taylor line is also from Covington, Kentucky.
