Howdy everyone This seams to bring up another subject. Wasn't it a request of the list at one time that all SURNAMES be typed in all caps? It sure helps when checking e-mail to find the surnames, or the main subject of an e-mail if they are. How about it what you all think? WELL I USE CAPS AND ONLY CAPS BECAUSE I HAVE RA AND THE STRETCH OF THE HAND THAT IS SO EASY FOR MOST OF YOU IS AGONIZING TO ME. SO CAPS IT WILL BE AND IF YOU CONSIDER THAT SCREAMING THEN TOO BAD
Bev, It helps A LOT (yes, I am trying to make a point :-) to place the surnames in caps - obviously, this is the TAYLOR list, but for those who scan to see if any names look familiar, it is a great help to have the surnames in caps since it draws our eyes to unfamiliar surnames and to first names of those Taylors (lower case done on purpose to show the difference within a paragraph). I always knew the reason some typed in all caps was because they were visually impaired and it was easier to read; I hadn't thought of the repetitive motion of hitting the Shift key while typing could aggravate other conditions. Thank you, [email protected] , for explaining. E-mail etiquette suggests all caps are shouting, but that has to be taken in context. If someone is shouting and their caps includes multiple exclamation points and/or a "tone", then I would be concerned. In the publishing world, it is believed that all caps is more difficult for most to read. But not impossible. We're all here for the same purpose - to locate our ancestors and living relatives. Let's enjoy. It is considered flaming to use inflamatory words with or without caps. It is not flaming to use all capital letters to enable one to see their messages better. Let it go. Overlook it. Who made up these dumb rules anyway. Some people use caps because they do not see well enough to read the smaller lower case letters. For my part I don't mind. Tim, I wonder if this inquirer is new to email and needs a more gentle reminder. Perhaps he or she is elderly with poor eyesight and needs caps to be able to read it. Just in case you're ever searching for anything having to do with Redding.... wanted to make sure you weren't barking up the wrong tree. :) Good luck, Teri

Howdy everyone Well today I had surgery to my hand so typing is slow right now, plus the fact that I need a new keyboard because 1/2 of the letters are gone on this one doesn't help anything. So if anyone has any questions about my tree or info please check out my web site. Also if you find anything that needs corrections or you would like to fill in any blanks Please feel free to e-mail them to me, and I will enter them as soon as my right hand will allow it. ;-) Go to: http://www.angelfire.com/ab6/bwilson61/Family.html If you have a web site that you would like to add a link to on my site Please feel free to send that too. Bev, Sorry about your hand surgery - but I just had to say you did quite well for having half your letters gone on your keyboard (my typing was atrocious when my main letters wore off their keys) and surgery on one hand! My Uncle was Charles Thomas Taylor, he married Lona Taylor, they adopted a son Claude Taylor ( Buddy) lived in Norton Va & Ramsey, my Uncle drove a taxi cab in the 1940s & early 50s. We have lost touch with Buddy Taylor for many years. Doris
My great grandfather was Frederick John Taylor, born April 3, 1869 in Toronto, Ontario, according to his death Certificate. His father was James Taylor, ancestry noted as Irish. His mother was unknown, which in Canada usually means native or Metis. Birth Registrations became required in Ontario in 1870. As did death Registrations, so I am going to guesstimate the approximate death date for James and search that. I am currently visiting in Saskatchewan, where James may have died in the Metis Rebellion of 1885, so I may find some historical material here that isn't available on line. If I find anything interesting I will send it on. Do you have any information on the generations before your Fred Taylor? Vicki Taylor Auerbach
