I'm over this CAPS thing. I'm searching this list daily for links to my relatives. I have info on a TAYLOR family in Beebe & Rosebud, AR area originating with an A(hab) W(ilson) Taylor. There are a lot of names familiar to my TAYLOR family and my TAYLOR's were also in the same area of White Co, AR. My gggreat grandpa was Horace W TAYLOR b. Sept 1864 in Dogwood Twp, WhiteCo, AR and d. bef June 1st 1900. He is living with his mother and siblings in the 1880 census. His mother is a M.E. TAYLOR and is head of household. She is 53 years old and b.in NC as were both her parents. The children are: Martha 21, T.L. 19, H.W. (Horace) 16, J.S. 9 all born in AR and their father was born in NC. I have searched out all the Taylors in a 3 county area and the A W TAYLOR family seems too close in many ways to be coincidence. I believe A.W.'s son Isaac M. TAYLOR b.1832 married a Margaret J. BLAKEMORE on July 8, 1856 in Weakley C, TN (I found the marriage record) around the same time Isaac's brothers moved to White Co, AR. I loose Isaac and Margaret but margaret's parents are in White Co, AR in 1860. Then I found a marriage record of Isaac TAYLOR to Elizabeth THOMPSON in White Co, AR on Jan 20,1859 but did not find them anywhere in U.S. on a census in 1860 or thereafter. Is this the same Isaac? What happened to Margaret? Is my M.E. TAYLOR possibly Margaret or possibly Elizabeth? I did not find my M.E. TAYLOR in the 1860 or 1870 census either. In the 1880 census Isaac's brothers are living all around M.E. Taylor in close proximity Does anyone have any info that could help me with a link here?? Any ideas?? I love to work puzzles. I once bought a puzzle and put it all together and found that one piece was missing! I promptly returned to the store and bought the exact same puzzle again. I dug thru the pieces until I found the ONE piece that was missing from the first puzzle and I put it in where it belonged! AHHHHH! Thanks for your help, Lori Jett
"Eric, I for one understand your plight and say ignore the remarks. It would be terrible to miss a Taylor link because someone did not like your caps. I hope you can read this. Patricia" I don't know what this is about, but CAPS, lowercase, who cares?? I agree with Patricia, just get the information out there! So, with a last apology to Eric, who should have been treated with more respect, let's get back to posting Taylor genealogy messages. ~Cathleen PS-Eric if you need some help, and don't have Ancestry.com, let me know (IN ALL CAPS IF YOU LIKE) and I will see if I can help.
Does anyone have a Mrs. Mary Taylor living in Caswell Co. NC in 1787? Or a TAYLOR family around Orange or Caswell Co. NC or St. Mary's District. Constance Taylor Guess testifies in court that she was married at Mrs. Mary Taylor's home in Caswell Co. NC 11 Jan 1787. I have searched Caswell & Orange Co. through all the wills and families there and don't seem to find my Constance Taylor. She could be using Connie. I have looked through all Rev. War Pension records. I'm about to give up and unsubscribe because she have been a brick wall for about 20 years. Could the Taylor family have moved to Rutherford Co. TN with the Guess family. Do you have Rutherford Co. ties? Thanks Brenda Stewart-Reeder
Hi Sue I am researching Taylors in Yorkshire but already have come across a brick wall at around 1900 with my husbands grandparents who where a Harry or Harold Taylor married to a Gladys Taylor nee Taylor their eldest son who was my father-in-law was born 12 Jan 1921 in Drewsbury, he had brothers Eric and Kenneth and a sister Joan. Lori, I found another marriage record for a Margaret Blakemore in Weakley County. She married Joseph M. White on March 6, 1860. Perhaps she and Isaac were divorced and she got back her maiden then married Mr. White. I also found another marriage for Joseph M. White to I.V. Blakemore in Weakley County on December 18, 1866. Perhaps Margaret died and he married one of her sisters or her cousin. Not sure this is your Margaret, though. Dear All, This talk of Taylor Lines in the UK is slightly more European in my line. I have Several George Taylor's from 1814 living in Great Hale, and also Sutterton LINCOLNSHIRE! They moved around a bit - to West Yorkshire first about 1886 then in 1905 to Denmark. Gareth Taylor North Yorkshire
This all reminds me of John Hancock. Rather nasty to the his King, or so I understand! Gareth A Loyal Subject of Her Most Britannic Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
My ROBERT MARION TAYLOR is not the same as the one listed below. However, as always I'm fascinated by identical names, especially when they aren't all that common. My great-grandfather RWT was born in VA, probably South or Southwest, and died in Surry Co., NC. His parents were Turner Robert TAYLOR and Sarah Jane SPARGER. That is as far back as we have been able to get. No more than a hunch at present, but I'm betting there is a connection somewhere to these Washington Co. TAYLORs. Hi Pam, My TAYLORs don't have any connection with South Yorkshire as far as I know. As I said I'm stuck at 1720, although there were TAYLORs in Danby Wiske area, near Lovesome Hill, in the 1500s. I just need to find a link. Probably like many others, my TAYLORs first names were limited to John, Robert, James, Joseph, which makes research very difficult, if not impossible. I have a Jonathan Taylor line that starts b 1829 in Bolton, Lancaster, England, UK; he was married to Catherine Carr in Fulton Co, IN 1849 and then they show up in the 1860 Kosciusko Co, IN census. After that, I don't have any idea where they went. I am interested in their descendants, but it might be interesting knowing who his parents are. Catherine is my 1st cousin, 4 times removed. Our common Grandfather would be Martin Luther Carr of Hardy Co, (W)VA, Fayette Co, OH, White Co, IN, and Kosciusko Co, IN. Children are John (1853), Mary (1854), Elizabeth (1855), Joseph (1857), Nancy (1859), (1860s) Adaline, Ella, Sarah, and Wesley. Jeff Carr of TX

Taking up Mary's point of 'getting on with the business of genealogy' - I would love to know how many fellow listers are researching TAYLORs in the UK and which parts of the UK their TAYLOR ancestors came from. My TAYLORs go back to 1720 as tollgate keepers, on the Boroughbridge to Darlington turnpike road, at Lovesome Hill near Northallerton in North Yorkshire. From there they have spread out across the North East of England and further afield. I haven't found any members who emigrated yet! and I have hit a brickwall at 1720 and can't get back any further. Ahh ... we might have a connection! I know very little about my Taylors, but what I do know is that my 4th great-grandmother was Anna Taylor, b. app. 1800. She m. William Roe app. 1818. They lived in Jefferson Co. Ohio, and if memory serves me (it's late!), she was born in Jefferson Co., Oh, and was also married there. I have been told (and have found this on the internet several times) that her father was Thomas Taylor, m. to Ruth Sprague. I have not proven this myself, so I have no documentation. Could this man be the same man as your Thomas Taylor? Thanks! LindaB

Thanks, Mary :-) I think we've all exhausted ourselves with this one~ Marilyn ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kenneth E Vanderheydt" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, 20 December, 2004 3:55 PM Subject: [TAYLOR] Using Caps | this same discussion happened on another web page, and the admin had to warn the person with being being blocked from the site if it didn't stop. We have a very good admin. and I know she is really trying to control this kind of discussion, and get on with the business of genealogy, which is what we all want. So please, don't keep this going. I for one, am always happy to help any researcher I can, newbie or otherwise. | If anyone is researching the Taylor line from the Taylor's New Jersey, or Ohio to Illinois, I will be glad to answer and offer help. | Thanks Marilyn for the great job. | | Mary
