Is anyone researching this Thomas Taylor? He was born 10-06-1824 in Lexington Co., SC and moved to Alabama. He married, first, Eugenia A. Cain (1830-1864) and, I believe he had these four children: Laura Susan Taylor, Josephine M. Taylor, Hiram Columbus Taylor, and Thomas Walker Taylor (b. 1856). After Eugenia died in 1864, he married Annetta J. White (1842 - 1902) and had, I believe, these 6 children: Samuel, Martin John, Carrie Eugenia, Travis T., Laura, and Bolden. I am trying to determine who Thomas Taylor's parents were. Does anyone have his death certificate? If so, does it contain the names of a parent? I believe his father to either be Martin Taylor or Henry Taylor, both of whom were born in South Carolina and both of whom resided in Baldwin County, Alabama. Does anyone have his Civil War record or pension application? He enlisted in 1864 at Camp Watts, Alabama in the Home Guards and continued Service until the close of the War in 1865. Kathryn Griffin

I am trying to connect my Asa Taylor from to N. C. who moved to Kentucky. His daughter Nancy Jane was born in N. C. in 1845. I know of two brothers, Jack and Jule Taylor. Thanks, Martha
Sorry. I should have said that John brought his family to VA in 1648 and NOT 1748. Eleanor
I am searching for any relations to my THOMAS JEFFERSON TAYLOR, born 1832 in STEWART COUNTY, TN. It is very possible that the family lived in a surrounding county but the birth was registered in Stewart County. Cathy IF YOU ARE GOING TO WORRY WHY PRAY? IF YOU PRAY WHY WORRY.
Debby; My Taylors Isaac and Isabella Wilson came to Orange/Augusta/Rockbridge co. VA abt 1737. The family went south thru Montgomery Co. NC, TN, AL, MS, TX, CA. Some went west to KY, AR, OK to CA. There was a Wesley in every family group, mostly as a middle name. Names were Isaac, George, William, Thomas, James, Joseph, James, Albert, Andrew, girls were Isabella, Lettice and Elizabeth. There were many Taylors in VA, NC, TN, AL at that time. I feel many were related but we have found no connection to most of them. My gr grandfather's brother was James Buchanon Taylor, I have wondered where the Buchanon came from. My Taylors who served in VA Militia served with leader named Buchanon, and Milton is common and I don't know where that comes from either. There are many Pleasants on both sides.I descend from Isaac Taylor and Isabella Wilson, Ireland & VA Isaac Jr & Emaline (Ware?) I am trying to find out when, and where, my g-grandparents got married. They came from Bermondsey, London, which may have come under Surrey. Ellen was Illigitimate, born 1893 and the only name we have for the father is JUPP in the surname column but was raised by her aunt as TAYLOR. That's all we have on him. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Simon -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.0.300 / Virus Database: 265.7.6 - Release Date: 1/27/05

Debby, I lost the Taylor name as soon as Mary Taylor married George Everett in the late 1600's. My Everett branch left VA to KY to TN to AR to TX. I do not know about the rest of Mary's sibling brothers as I am a direct line researcher. Eleanor [email protected] wrote: > > Eleanor, > > Did this Taylor line stay in VA? Researching the John Taylor family of Northampton Co. VA. It is said that John was from England and married to Elizabeth. He apparently brought one son with him also named John who married Alice Gascoigne/Gaskins ca 1650. This family of Taylors was supposed to have arrived in VA ca 1748. I descend from John and Alice's dau Mary Taylor who married George Everett. Would like to find Taylor cousins who are actively researching this particular VA Taylor family. However, any data on this family would be appreciated whether related or not. Thanks. Eleanor
I don't know if William J. Taylor had an Elizabeth in his family but his father was William M. Taylor who was born about 1810 is South Carolina. William M. and his wife Locadia were living in Pike County, Georgia in 1870.
