Eugene retired from Harrison Radiator in 1991 after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Brookville Masonic Lodge #596 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and the Antioch Shrine in Dayton, and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, travel as an RV'er with the Good Sam Club, and was always fixing and repairing just about anything. He is survived by his loving wife: Rose Marie (Szabo) Shockey, son and daughter-in-law, Roger D. and Cathie Shockey of Kettering, grandchildren and spouses: Michael Shockey of Brookville, Jeffrey and Crystal Shockey of Kettering, Marie and Doug Johnson of Brookville, Robert Linder and Steven Linder of Kettering, great grandchildren; Joshua, Tyler and Kaitlin Shockey, Taylor Johnson, Alex, Anna and Ashlynn Schockey,sisters and brothers-in-laws: Willa Haines, Mary and Gene Poff, Tressie Thorson, all of Illinois, CARRIE & RAY BRYANT of Cobbtown, GA., brothers and sisters -in-law: James and Thelma Shockey of Owingsville, KY., Mitchell and Liz Shockey of Mt Orab, OH., aunts, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by one son: Larry Eugene Shockey, parents: Hager and Dora (Burton) Shockey, brother: Arthur Shockey, nephew: Allen Bryant and niece: Rebecca Warren. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31, at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood) with nephew Rev. David Warren officiating. Interment was at Arlington Cemetery, Brookville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children (3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati 45229-3095).
