JESSE BARNETT Jesse Barnett, 88, of Jackson, Ky., passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2001. Born May 29, 1913 at Taulbee, KY., he was the widowed husband of Easter Barnett and a farmer. The son of the late George Barnett and the late Lizzie (Banks) Barnett and a member of the Church of God and a WWII Veteran. Survivors include three sons: Ivan and wife, Dolly Barnett, Vancleve, Jesse Jr. and wife, Jalia Barnett, Jackson, Ky., and Arlis Ray and wife, Marcella Barnett, Frenchburg; four daughters: Malvery and husband, George Combs, Jackson, Judy Carol and husband, Don Alex, Xenia, OH., Wanda and husband, Eugene Boss, Westchester, OH, Sylvia and husband, Virgil Darling, New Albany, OH.; two brothers: Robert "R.B." and wife, Eliza Barnett, Vancleve, Ray and wife, Maxine Barnett, Middletown, OH; two sisters: Beatrice Brown, Middletown, OH, Mary and husband, Veron Banks, Knox, IN; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by one son: Shirl Barnett; four brothers: Asa, Osa, Wilson and Roy Barnett; one sister: Mattie Barnett. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 15, 2001, at the Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel with Tim King and Stanley Barnett officiating. Burial followed in the Field Branch Cemetery, Vancleve, Ky., with the Breathitt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Additional services were held Friday, at 7:00 p.m. with Leonard Carpenter.
