Mary E. South Mrs. Mary E. South, 73, of Trenton, died at the Middletown Regional Hospital Sunday evening, Dec. 14, 2003. She was born on May 31, 1930, at Wolfe County, Ky., the daughter of Burse and Barbara Taulbee Banks. She was employed at the Akers Packaging Co. from 1967 to 1992, retiring as a saw operator. Mary was a member of the South Middletown Church of God for the past 41 years and also a member of the Willing Workers of the church. She is survived by five children, Jerry W. South Jr. of Camden, Julia M. (Bill) Mayes of Middletown, Barbara J. (Chuck) Smith of Middletown, Richard L. (Debbie) South of Pensacola, Fla., and David M. (Jewell) South of Franklin; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Allen of Middletown and Ginny Shephard of Middletown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry South in 1974; her parents; a sister and three brothers. ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Edward L. Cloninger officiating.
