Wolfe County News Lourine Brown, 77 of Willow Knoll Nursing Home in Middletown, Ohio, formerly of Carlisle, Ohio died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001 at the home. She was born on Dec. 23, 1923 in Wolfe County, KY, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Williams and Louella Birchfield Williams. She married Wenzle Reed Brown who preceded her in death, June 26, 1982. Also preceding her in death were a number of brothers and sisters. Lourine was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. Survivors include three sons, Gaylon Brown and wife, Louise, of Carlisle, Ohio, Marcus Brown and wife, Cindy, of Florida, and Merle Brown of Middletown, Ohio, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Burial was at the Williams Family Cemetery at Campton with Porter and Son Funeral Home. ---------------- Della B. Lawson Della Birchfield Lawson, 91 of Frenchburg, died Sunday, July 1, 2001 at Mary Chiles Hospital in Mount Sterling. Born June 25, 1910 in Wolfe County, Della was a daughter of the late Samuel Birchfield and Ida Ratliff Birchfield. She was a retired bookkeeper for Lawson and Crain Lumber Company of Frenchburg, and a member of Mariba Church of God, Mariba, KY. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ishmael Lawson, two sisters, Edna Campbell and Tilda Moore, and one brother, Ottis Birchfield. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ida and Harry Ray of Deland, Florida; three sons and daughters -in - law, Sam and Bridgett Lawson and Logan and Phyllis Lawson, all of Frenchburg, and James and Wanda Lawson of Wellington; one sister, Grace Ducil, of Middletown, Ohio; three brothers, Orville Birchfield of Wellington, T.K. Birchfield of Dayton, Ohio and Ray Birchfield of Monroe, Ohio; one granddaughter, Rahla l. Price; six grandson, Philip Lawson, David B. Lawson, Lewis Lawson, Steve B. Lawson, Jim E. Lawson, and Joe Lawson; two great grandsons, Branson D. Lawson and Tyler J. Lawson; five great granddaughters, Stevena Lawson, Casey Chasteen and Christa Stamm.
