Judge S.S. Taulbee, recently elected County Judge James Hargis, noted leader of feudists, together with attorneys and friends, went to Jackson last night, shook hands all around, mutually good will and hearty co-operation in re-establishment of law and order. Hargis agreed to a motion to dismiss the cases. Jackson people are jubilant and will celebrate the event tonight in a big town ball at Taulbees hotel. The Fort Wayne Evening Seninel Fort Wayne, Indiana Friday, Feb. 7, 1908 YOUNG HARGIS SHOWS NO REGRET FOR MURDER OF HIS FATHER Judge Hargis Had Picked Out Preacher For His Funeral Show Jackson, Ky, Feb. 7---Beach Hargis, who killed his father, Judge James Hargis, yesterday, made a statement late last night in which he said that his father attempted to assault when he went into the store before the shooting. He was taken before County Judge Taulbee today, but the hearing was postponed until next Monday. He expresses no regret over the tragedy. The funeral services will take place tomorrow at the home of Judge Hargis in Jackson and will be conducted by Rev. Caloway Cooper, a Baptist minister who lives in the country.
