Hi Louise and Bess, I would like to jump in here, if I may. Margaret "Polly" is my ggggrandmother on both sides of my family. An aunt told me that the common knowledge was that Margaret "Polly" had Ira out of wedlock with Simon Cockrell. I am particularly interested in this line and wonder if anyone else has ever come across this information? After that she married John Dunn. My mother descends from the Taulbee side of this family and my father from the Dunn side so this is really important to me. In fact, just to throw this out, have any of you heard of any DNA testing on the Cockrell family and/or the Taulbee family? I would sure be interested in proving this one way or another.
