Of course, I'm interested, and thanks, take your time. Would really be interested in those that were born/lived in Wolfe or Breathitt Counties. Thanks, Carole Hi Carole, I see that you are mentioning the Elkins family occasionally and since my mother was the d/o of Hansford Elkins I have information about them but I do not have certification of any of this. It seems that sometime in the 60's two of my aunts went to Jackson and someone took them to an old man somewhere up a holler who had kept records a bout many families that lived in the area, and among them was the Elkins family, This information was handwritten and some is difficult to transcribe, If you are interested I will send it to you. Since it is handwritten and in small writingit will take a few days to translate. If you are interested please contact me. The dates are from 1777 CATHERINE ELKINS from Lee County, Va etc. Cuzzin' Justine ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carole Bays" <acbays@mrtc.com> To: <TAULBEE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 29, 2003 11:15 PM Subject: RE: [TAULBEE-L] Kidd page 113 again > I don't know why he is listed as Howard, Orlean was NOT a Dunn but a > Hatton, Odra was not the daughter of Henry Clay but the daughter of > Judge Brewer and Orlean Hatton, she married John Stone. Hi Joyce, It worked this time!! I have him as Rev. Jefferson Turner, but I have nothing in my notes to tell you where I got the information. About 5 years back I lost all my notes in my genealogy program, just the notes, nothing else. I removed the Rev. part from his name. Louise On Sun, 30 Nov 2003 14:43:18 -0500 "Joyce T. This is the third time I've tried to send this message. If it doesn't work this time, I give up!! "Ethel" Turner Taulbee was my father's sister. Her parents were William Jefferson "Jeff" Turner and Mary Frances "Fannie" Little. When I read the question about who her parents were, it was the first time I had ever heard my grandfather Jeff referred to as "Rev". Joyce Turner Jones
Per Breathitt marriages, A.L. must have married four times and I think that those are the children of Serilda's. Per Marriages, the A is Aggie. Another mystery that many never be cleared up unless someone of that family comes forward. Well I couldn't add or subtract and thought those children were Margaret's at first. I can't find anything on the children, the children with Abraham L. 1910) are children of Surilda Shackelford's. It appears that A.L. Shackelford also went by the name of Crain and he married a couple more times after Serilda. I believe the wife in the 1910 Census is Lizzie Miller. More than likely Margaret Taulbee Flinchum's children were gone from home by 1900, but where did they go? Carole
