I found this obit last night, Wolfe County News Nov. 3, 1954 James Monroe Hatton, 74 of Campton d. Sat. afternoon in the West Liberty Hospital after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mae Hatton, four daughters, Misses Mary and Gertrude Hatton, Cincinnati; Mrs. Marie Brewer, Ardmore, Okla., and Miss Wanda Rose Hatton, of Campton; three sons, Porter Hatton, Cincinnati, Raymond Hatton, Eldorado, Kan; and Arlie Hatton, Middletown, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Harris, Wolfe County and Mrs. Roxie Terrill, Middletown, Ohio; five brothers, George, Frank, Oscar, Bob and Logan Hatton, Wolfe County, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Buried in the Evans Cemetery. Note: He and Mae are both buried in the Evans Cemetery. I spent a long time in the library going thru all the 1988 newspapers and I could not find an obit for Mae Taulbee Hatton. I also couldn't find the mother and birth dates of most of the above children. J.M. Hatton was married to a Lila Williams prior to Mae Taulbee, some of these children could be hers? Maranda Marie Hatton d/o Monroe and Mae md. Jimmie L. Brewer s/o Lebern Brewer and Viola Manning on June 10, 1954 Carole

William later had a son and a daughter by Sophia Taulbee Linden, who was staying with them after her husband Curtis Linden, was killed in the war. Sophia and Curtis had a daughter named Dovie. Children of William Taulbee and Sophia Taulbee Linden were Media Taulbee and Jennings Taulbee. Media Taulbee married Denny Davis, son of Letch Davis. They had several children, dont know exact number. Jennings Taulbee married Anna Hollon, daughter of Bradley Hollon and Callie Blankenship. They had four children. Elvin Taulbee married Rene Lykins on Feb. 11, 1911, (according to the net) they had seven children, Haskell Taulbee, Luther Taulbee, Lonnie Taulbee, and Eva Taulbee, Evalee Taulbee, Madeline Taulbee. I dont know whom Haskell and Luther and Buford married or how many children they had. Lonnie died at about fifteen years of age. Eva Taulbee married Walter Parks and they had nine children that I know of. Evalee Taulbee (my mother) married Edgar Allen and they had seven children. ((I have not listed the children due to privacy concerns. The email of the person who sent this to me does not show up as a subscribed address, so if this line is important to you, will put you in contact.)) Louise-- My husband's g-grandfather was James Birchfield who married Matilda Rose dau. of Anderson Rose, s/o Samuel Rose, s/o John and Rebecca Bowen Rose. James goes back to the Birchfield's who came from NC and who intermarried with the Taulbee's--although my husband is not related to the Taulbee's that I know of. Could be way back somewhere, but not that I am aware of. I think James was the son of an Adam Birchfield, but I would have to go back and check my records. Bess

I'm surprised that someone didn't pick up on this. If Belle was a daughter of George Carson and Bertha was a daughter of George Carson per her marriage, then she married her What - nephew. I still haven't found a cemetery listing for Belle Taulbee, maybe she is in the same cemetery as Newton?? More research is needed and guess Belle wasn't a Carson after all. Anyone Know? I did find this today and I can't find him listed in my list of the Carson Cemetery, could be he didn't have a stone or I just missed him, it was pouring the rain the Sunday morning I copied this cemetery, some parts of this cemetery looked as if someone had been riding 4 wheelers in it. Wolfe County News - Feb. 29, 1956 Charlie H. Carson, 64, died in the Veterans Hospital, Louisville on Tuesday, Feb. 21. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Stewart Carson, of Carlisle, and three daughters, Miss Mildred Joyce Carson, Mrs. Carrie Jollie all of Carlisle and four sons, Robert Carson, Morefield, Charles Carson, Jr. and Rex and Omer Carson, all of Carlisle. Four sisters also survive, Mrs. Maude Dunn, Mrs. BERTHA TAULBEE, Mrs. Alice Nickell, all of Lexie and Mrs. BELL TAULBEE of Campton. One brother, G.W. Carson of Cincinnati. I wasn't able to access George Carson online in the 1910 Census, but here is what was in a printed census, 1910 Wolfe by Kay Spencer 1910 Mrs. Belle Taulbee 38 widow 8 children 5 lving Lloyd Bertain 21 John 07 (should be 17, he is age 26 in 1920) Wilburn 14 son Etta May 12 daughter Newton 05 son G.W. (George) Carson 88 single Irvine 30 Queen 26 dau Bertha 24 dau Morton 20 son Augustus 18 son Per Kaye (on the 1900 census the children listed above were living in the household of Rebecca Banks, (below) and listed as her children.) Rebecca Banks 48 single number of children was blank Charley H. 16 son James 14 son Maude Ellen 12 dau Nettie 05 niece I think that George either married Rebecca Banks or had children by her. She is also buried in the Carson Cemetery. -----Original Message----- From: Louise Gaskill [mailto:pgaskill@juno.com] Sent: Friday, December 05, 2003 9:29 AM To: TAULBEE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TAULBEE-L] Newton A.
