Mary E. South Mrs. Mary E. South, 73, of Trenton, died at the Middletown Regional Hospital Sunday evening, Dec. 14, 2003. She was born on May 31, 1930, at Wolfe County, Ky., the daughter of Burse and Barbara Taulbee Banks. She was employed at the Akers Packaging Co. from 1967 to 1992, retiring as a saw operator. Mary was a member of the South Middletown Church of God for the past 41 years and also a member of the Willing Workers of the church. She is survived by five children, Jerry W. South Jr. of Camden, Julia M. (Bill) Mayes of Middletown, Barbara J. (Chuck) Smith of Middletown, Richard L. (Debbie) South of Pensacola, Fla., and David M. (Jewell) South of Franklin; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Allen of Middletown and Ginny Shephard of Middletown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry South in 1974; her parents; a sister and three brothers. ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Edward L. Cloninger officiating. I was searching for Troy Taulbee in the Census this week, when I found him as a patient in the Eastern Kentucky State Hospital. I didn't realize there were so many there, a large place, found page after page of patients and helpers in 1930. I found these: 1930 Fayette County Census Allen Taulbee age 46 b. 1883 Patient (have no ideal who this is) Jettie Taulbee age 28 b. 1901 Patient (have no ideal who this is) Troy Taulbee age 31 b. 1898 Patient, I believe this is the Troy on page 37 of Rose's book. Lydia Bradley age 27 b. 1902 Patient This was Lydia Bryant Bradley d/o John Dudley Bryant and Margaret Taulbee, I think their family starts on about page 72. She died in 1957 in the Eastern State Hospital. I knew she was there but didn't realize just how many years she had been there. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dulley Taulbee, Mary, and two daughters, Mrs. Vic Allen, Campton, Mrs. Nellie Hewitt, Sarasota, Fla., and four sons, Lee Taulbee, Joe and Fred, all of Muncie, Ind. and Bill of Campton, one brother, Lewis Taulbee, Beattyville, three sisters, Mrs. Lyda Taulbee, Mary, Mrs. Susan Bach, Winchester and Mrs. Florence Lentes,(??) Vada. He was a rural mail carrier for 37 years and a member of the Antioch Christian Church. Funeral was held at the residence at Mary, Tuesday, April 24, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Onee Banks and Rev. Of course you know there are double names in this Taublee family, which makes it so confusing. The other Marcus that md. the Vanover could have also married Mary Hollon. I don't have any material in Letcher County to look and see if he married a second time and had children. Of course he could have left the state for MI and married. It just caught my eye that we had two Marcus' marrying two Mary Hollons. I don't know, all my genealogy file is gone, gone, gone and I'm starting over. Hi Belinda, I was looking thru the Taulbee book again tonight and found on page 84, a Marcus Taulbee who married a Mary Hollon. Did both of these Marcus Taulbees marry Mary Hollons?
