Elizabeth Taulbee, sister of "Preacher Lee". I can't find William & Phoebe Banks in the 1870 census to see if that have a grandson named James with them. Is anyone familiar with this William Banks family? 1. Re: [TAULBEE-L] Floyd and William Taulbee
    2. Louise, I believe it is entirely possible that this is Jerry s/o James and Rebecca Caroline Campbell Banks. My g-grandfather was Andrew Jackson Banks s/o James and Rebecca Caroline Campbell Banks and would have been a brother to Jerry. Andrew also changed his name to Taulbee and 1st married Peggy/Maggie Taulbee d/o John CB Taulbee & Margaret Allen. I was told by older relatives on a trip I made to KY several years back that the name change was because James Banks was the illegitamate son on William Lee Taulbee and Elizabeth Banks. I have also had trouble finding Elizabeth Banks (aka Bessie Banks) but believe she may be the sister of George Banks. Is there anything in the census that shows a George and Elizabeth Banks as the children of someone? I believe it would have been in the mid or maybe late 1800s. 3. As a Taulbee male my son and I suggest we talk about something more positive than Taulbee men being subject to a genetic matter leading to blindness!!!!! It is interesting though fortunately back through our line I know of no blindness but after sending my son these messages he said he had an appointment with his ophthalmologist for his eyes had gotten bad in recent months!!! The power of suggestion!!! 3. Oh Boy! Then there were two women, one Zillie and one Ella. Most illeg births do not have a paper trail, which is why they are so hard to find. Found these two marriages in Wolfe, are they yours? Jerry Banks (d) 27 s/o James M. and Caroline Banks Evalee Turner (d) 15 d/o Dick Turner and Leona Taulbee Feb. 6, 1939 Wolfe Jerry Banks (d) 37 s/o James M. and Caroline Banks Gracie McDaniel (d) 23 d/o Morton and Leona McDaniel Oct. 3, 1938 Wolfe I think I'm getting Ella Taulbee mixed up, there must have been two Ellas. Dewey Johnson b. Sept. 12, 1930 Clark County Also found these children born to Ella Taulbee Elsie Taulbee b. July 14, 1925 Clark Alice Taulbee b. You are on the right track. Jerry b. 2/12/1901 to James b. July 1863 to Elizabeth Banks. (Family knowledge said he was the illagimate son of William Lee Taulbee. I have not been able to confirm this on paper). and Rebecca Banks b. August 1870. Jerry was my grandfather. His first marriage was to Zella (I thought her maiden name was litterell). Nannie b. 1-25-1925 was my Aunt and I know her. She is in a nursing Home in Dayton, Ohio. After commiting Zella to a mental institution. She had what was probably known now as post partum depression after Junie was born. Jerry's second marriage was to Ella Taulbee (I believe that was her maiden name). She was my Grandma. b. 1/26/1909. She already had one son named Dewey Johnson. I am assuming this was her second Marriage. Dewey was born 9/12/????. Jerry and Ella had 2 sons. James b. 10/25/1935 d. 6/17/1995 in Magnolia Texas, buried in Dayton, Ohio, and Courtney b. 9/13/1937. Courtney is my dad. There were other wives after Ella and I have info on all that. Where I am stuck at is earlier. I have no info on Rebecca Caroline Campbell except she was supposedly born in Wolfe/Breathitt County. I have been unsuccesful at finding Elizabeth Banks. Any Help Greatly Appreciated. You know a lot more about this than I do. Many Thanks, Linda ==== TAULBEE Mailing List ==== GOING AWAY FOR MORE THAN A COUPLE DAYS? UNSUBSCRIBE FROM YOUR LISTS.
