Now you are talking about my family so I figured that I better join in. The Jonas M. - Ella Jane Swango TAulbee had 5 deaths in the fall of 1918 to the flu. There was grandma Ella, Aunt Rosa and her baby Geneva, aunt Debbie (she was about 8)&Aunt Alice Lawson Taulbee. She was uncle Sams wife. They are all buried at Taulbee-Burton cemetary. The family lived in the big white house at the foot of the hill and where the road turns to go to Bloody Creek. Aunt Rosa and Sherly Childers only had the one child. Sherly Childers then married aunt Lillie, sister of Rosa. They lived at Campton for years. They had Olive and Paul. I haven't heard of them since we had a family reunion at uncle Jim and aunt Virgie in 1943. Does anyone know more about them? They divorced and Sherly came to Mich. around South Lyons in the 40's I beleive. Does anyone know who Sherlys parents were? Aunt Lillie married a Bailey and lived in Lexington. She worked as a nurse in Eastern State Hospital . She was killed by a train while trying to rescue her dog. This was in 56-57. Nancy TAulbee that married John B. Childers was a sister to my grandfather Jonas Taulbee. they lived on Bloody Creek. Jonas lived at Mary. Minerva childers was a midwife. She was present at my birth, but we had complications. I ended up with three doctors. Mary Neeley married Kernie Shull @ 1934. He was murdered on Bloody Creek on his way home one nite. They had no children. Kernie was a cousin on mine. I had come to Mich in 1942, and kindly lost track of some cousins. But we always attended most of the parties at Jim Nobles' so I was able to keep up on the important family news. I still visit Mary. Yes Edgar died in Mich. I think they had 3 children. Enough for tonite. Family history is my weakness . I am working on the Olivers, Burtons, and some others. Manda

My grandmother, Lillie, was Millie Taulbee and Ballard Neely's daughter. She married Windle Noble, the son of Mary Little and John Noble. I've actually found a lot on the Taulbee's, Neely's, and Little's but not so much on the Noble's. It doesn't help that John Noble was born out of wedlock. Let me know if you need any further information. --- Carole Bays <acbays@mrtc.com> wrote: > That would be nice and thanks. Childers of Flat, KY, one of Wolfe County's most highly esteemed citizens, passed away from earth to mansions not made with hands eternal in the heavens. Uncle John as he was familiarly called, was born Aril 4, 1948, making his stay on earth 84 years, 11 months and 17 days. He was united in marriage to Nancy Taulbee, Aug. 30, 1866. To this union was born 14 children, 4 girls and 10 boys. Those surviving him are, (1) Mrs. George Whisman of Ida May, Lee County, Kentucky; (2) Mrs. Wm. Chambers of Baptist; (3) Mrs. Robert Moore of Mary, (4) Mrs. Hiram Whisman of Flat; (5) Henry Childers of Texas; (6) J. Two brothers survive; Sam and James Childers of Ashland, KY. (Edward d. 1916 and Richard Deward d. 1929) (Could Archibald and Dorsey be the missing sons?) His beloved companion died 13 year ago. Besides his children there were 106 grandchildren and 63 great grandchildren, most of whom survive him. Uncle John and his good wife joined the M.E. Church in 1890 and lived consistent Christians to the end. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Joe Hieronymus, pastor of the M.C. Church of Flat, assisted by Bros. Buck Creech, Dave Tolson and Wm. Chambers. His remains were laid to rest in the Childers cemetery by the side of his wife to await the glorious resurrection, when the Lord returns to claim his own, that has been redeemed by His own power. Despite the inclement weather there was a large assembly gathered to pay the last tribute of respect to their venerable friend. (I think I've found all the living children up to 1930 except William Henry in Texas. I have him married to 1) Gertrude Stone and for some reason I thought he married a Sada Arnold. And had two children, Sada b. 1896 and Vivian b. 1909) He had two children, Bettie/Rettie/ and J. Everett Childers (Everett was killed by lightning) by Gertrude Stone. What happened to second wife if there was one? Did he leave for Texas after what ever happened to wife???
