Thanks Norma, maybe someday I'll learn, I just found his obit. Allen Lindon, 83 d. Friday, Oct. 7, 1955 at his home in Ohio following a long illness. He was a retired farmer going to Middletown, Ohio from Charleston, IL about 25 years ago. He was formerly of Wolfe County being reared on Lacy creek in Wolfe County. Surviving are his wife, Mae, three sons, William, Seldon and Allen all of Middletown, two daughters, Mrs. Robert Mattingly and Mrs. Elsie Williams also of Middletown, 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; two brothers, Sam of Hazard and Robert of Mt. Sterling and a sister, Mrs. Betsy Lykins, Hazard, KY. Attending the funeral in Middletown, Ohio from here was Sterling Lindon, his nephew, also his brother Sam from Hazard and his brother Robert of Mt. Sterling. All was known in Wolfe. Burial was in Humboldt, ILL. This is not the Allen that I was looking for. This must be the Allen Lindon out of Magoffin County. Sterling Lindon was the son of David and Mary Lindon, and the Allen I'm looking for didn't have the named siblings. Now Sterling Lindon's family are related to the Taulbee family but it's from his wife Pauline d/o John and Esther Shockey. Where did Allan s/o Robert Lindon and Millie Shockey go? Louise, This is very interesting - my grandfather William Henry Turner went to Wisconsin as a young man to work in the logging business and then returned to Breathitt Co. after a few years. I believe he might have gone there because his sister Fannie Turner who was married to Willie Chapman might have been there. Do you recognize any of those names and could they relate to your Chapman family? Fannie and Willie stayed there and the family lost track of them and their descendents. I would love to make a connection with this family. And thanks for the lead about Forest Co. - I had not known where they might have gone but this looks like a real possibility. Worked on the Robert Lindon and Millie Shockey family last night. Norma and Louise when you get time, would you please look in the 1920 Coles County, ILL census for Allen Lindon. It says he is there, but when I get on the page I can't see him. I believe this is the correct one and his wife wasn't Nola but Dolin and she could have been a Fugate but I don't know yet. Rose lists her as Nola Fugate. 1910 Wolfe Allen Lindon 37 md. 11 years Dolin 28 5-4 Brealy 09 Marvie 07 Elsie 03 Seldon 11/12 1920 can't find him 1930 Butler County, Ohio Allen Lindon 54 Dolin 29 Seldon 20 Allen E. 11 Thanks, Carole
Carole, if the problem is that the census image isn't focusing, go to the bottom and hit "quality", it usually reloads in focus. The James C. Bailey census records sure looks like it's him, right age, right birthplace, etc. Here is Walter & Sadie: 1930 Langlade Co., WI census Town of Langlade 26-26 Bailey, Walter Head M W Owns 21 age 20 1st mg KY Farmer Sadie wife F W 19 age 18 1st mg WI GER WI Also, I came up empty looking in the Washington state death records, I'm running behind, but I plan to look again. The only reason that I have access to a lot of the Ancestry records is that I have a son that is too busy sitting in front of his computer to shop for me on Christmas, so he gets on the web and buys me access upgrades. We wish them a pleasant and prosperous journey through life. (Note: I have no ideal who this could be) On same page: The jury in the case of Charles Kincaid, for the killing of Hon. W.P. Taulbee, brought in a verdict of not guilty. The testimony was conflicting. Kincaid testified that Taulbee was coming toward him with his hand in his hip pocket when he fired the fatal shot. Others stated that Taulbee did not see Kincaid when the shot was fired. The government made a strong fight for conviction, and the other side an equally strong one for acquittal. Carole

It appears that this family all left Ky about the same time, some went to WI, WA, OK and some of their children died in ID, AR and Florida, haven't found all of them. You know we should check Wisconsin, and Oklahoma on everyone we lose between 1900 and 1910. Check Ohio, Michigan and Indiana on all we loose after 1920, I keep forgetting these people went west and north.
