    3. Hello, I have some questions I would like to know. Is this Mandy Burton still living. I am hoping that she may be able to answer some questions on the Burton side of our family. My Burton Family was from War Creek and John was a nephew to my great grandma Elizabeth Burton Taulbee. Would appreciate any information. I am still trying to get the last half of this family together. Thanks, Manda ----- Original Message ----- From: <BO0KLADY@aol.com> To: <TAULBEE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 10, 2004 12:59 PM Subject: [TAULBEE-L] Taulbee Lousetti Taulbee > My paternal grandmother was Lousetti Taulbee, d/o John CB Taulbee & Mary Ellen Stamper. 3. Too the BOOKLADY Just read your letter and was glad to see your spelling of Manda. I am a Manda Jane also. the original spelling, according to my birth certificate, was Manday Jane. We go back 4 generations and none of them are spelled with the Amanda. It really annoyes me when people call me Amanda. I was really shocked when I was searching the cemetaries and found my name on a tombstone in what we called the Uncle Perry Taulbee one at Mary, Ky. She had married McClelland Stamper.I have since met several of her family members. I am really interested in the John Burton and who he might be. My great grand mother was Elizabeth Burton. I am working on that line. But there was so many Burtons between War Creek and the Burton Bend, I am having a hard time seperating the two families. Would appreciate any help with them. Elizabeth Burtons mother was a Mahalia Vires from War Creek. I am really enjoying all the different information and the stories each one of you write. MANDA

    2. I have a copy of a posting from November 13, 2003 from Louise Gaskill about a Roscoe Taulbee. I do have some information on him that I received from his sister Amanda(Mandy). Here is a short listing that might help, I have other information if you need it. John CB Taulbee married 1st Mary Ellen Stamper around 1880. She died before 1888. They had the following children: Hulda M. b-1881, married 1st Dennis Banks, 2nd Jefferson Davis Patton. Mary B. b-Feb 1883, she died young Amanda Jane(Mandy) b-11 May 1884 died 29 Nov 1978 Married 1st Phlem(sp) Conley, 2nd John Burton Lousetti b-21 Oct 1885 died 8 June 1958. married 1st Bruce Banks ??, 2nd John Hatton. (*Mary Ellen Stamper Taulbee died*) John CB Taulbee married 2nd Sara Elizabeth Noble around 1887. They had the following children. Martha b-1888, she married Goose Back, have letter from Martha. Margaret b-25 June 1889, she married Alford Deaton] Patrick Lewis b-Aug 1891, he married Dixie Perdue Barbara b-Jan 1894, she married Burse Banks James Henry b-Sept 1895, he married Grace Perdue Isaac T. b-Jul 1897, he died young Roscoe b-1901, he married Myrtle Johnson Alpha Sara b01903, she married Bill Gabbard I am not sure who the asked for ages for census records, but I do know that Lousetti was born in 1885 and in the 1900 census she is listed as age 13 (should have been 15) and in the 1910 census she is married and gives her age as 25. Some of the other children seem to be listed with the wrong age in a couple of the census as they change more than 10 years from one census to the next. Hope htis helps. I am still trying to glean some additional information from letters that my unlces have from some of the above. Amanda had a daughter named Lousetta and a granddaughter also named Lousetta. Emma has sent me a number of pictures of the family and Amanda's obituary. Would like to exchange information with someone that is researching the John CB Taulbee line. Carol

    3. Found a mistake in this post, Maggie Moore died Dec. 5, 1967. I don't know why I had it as Jan. This obit was given to me several years ago and at that time the dates were not listed on the obit. Maybe the person who gave me the obit had written that date on the obit, or the date of the newspaper, but Maggie's stone and the SS both give Dec. 5, 1967. Carole
