I recently joined the list and would like to make a few comments about RP in the Taulbee family. According to family lore Rachel Jane Taulbee (Samuel, Samuel, William Hitchcock, Samuel, Edward) stated the disease was in the family when they came over from England. In this line there are many cases of varying intensity all descending from Rachel Jane. Samuel's 4 children all had RP. Rachel was the only one to have children. Of her 4 children, one died as a child, 2 sons had RP, a daughter did not. There has been no further RP in the daughters descendants. The disease continues in the sons lines only by direct descent. Although I do not want to go into details on list, I would like to hear from others who have a personal interest in this disease is this family. Hi Belinda, I have his death date as June 21, 1925 also. I don't remember where I got the death certificate transcription, but I know that it wasn't from Carole because she transcribes her's in an entirely different way. I looked in my collection, but I don't see his, but I have papers all over the house, so I'll keep looking. This is a grandson of James P. Taulbee and the youngest son of Luther Morgan Taulbee. My grandfather died in 1925. By the way, I have several copies of the Rose Taulbee book, on CD. If you need a copy, I will be glad to send you one if you will pay the shipping cost. these are the same as the ones Bob George had before he disappeared. William H. Taulbee Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Louise, I have a question about the death date on James Perry Taulbee. The record you transcribed says he died in 1915 however if he was born in 1846 and you add his age at death you get 1925. Is this a typo on the birth or death? Not a stupid question at all. I would like to know too. I have a feeling it has to do with $$$$. If they restrict them, they can charge more. And, the "think" they are protecting everyone from some unknown identity snatcher. All anyone has to do is look at the newspaper or internet if they are inclined to do something like that. It really doesn't seem logical to me for the state to do it except that the bottom line would be $$$ and that is what most legislation is about! This might be a stupid question but why would anyone one to close off thses records? who would it help or hurt to leave them as they are? How can those of us from another state have an impact on what is decided in KY? Thank for the info. Just wanted to add some things that I have learned during the years. I agree that there must be a generation missing. One of my notes says to look in the St. Johns church in Baltimore county, Md. This would be back in the late 1600s so there probably wasn't too many St Johns churches. I can no longer get to the Detroit Library to look for this. I was hoping that maybe Jerry would be able to look for this. Wish someone could find the names of John Talby other two children. That may be a clue. I have reasoned out the other sons of John and they didn't seem to fit. I was in London, England but didn't have too much time to look. I did find only one John Talby, no other Talby. there was 3 Darite Ralingson (Rollinson) and a list of their children. They were not from London. It was too far away for us to take a train and get back in one day. I was traveling with my great grand son's soccer team and we had to sort of stay together. I did go to Detroit Library to do some study. I looked in the annuals of Salem (4 vol. of them) Salem was incorperated in 1632. The layout of the plot was in a oval shape, with all the lots going from the outside. The inside was for other uses. That gave them some protection from the Indians. They had the names of the families listed on each plot, and yes John Talby had the lot closest to the church. Another interesting thing was that about 4 lots down was the lot of Thomas Oliver. My mother was an Oliver and I have found these two names together all through my history. Mrs, Oliver was also in trouble ant tried about the same time as Dorothy Talby.
