My grandmother was Amanda Jane Tate Byers daughter of Lemuel and Sarah Twibell Tate born 1880 in Hartford City, Blackford Co, IN. My mother was born in Huntington Co, IN. Lemuel was born in Virginia, fought in the Civil War and married 4 times (Sarah Twibell was the last of 4 wives). Lemuel's grandfather William Tate supposedly came from Germany.
