Were your Tates any kin to Nathaniel or William Tate of Hall CO GA or surrounding area? Nathaniel Tates dgt Cynthia married Joseph Elrod in Hall CO, GA and she is buried there. If your Tates are kin, that might be why they went back to GA to be close to family. Gen
Hallowed Ground - Alanreed rancher rescues graveyard from prairie http://amarillonet.com/stories/032600/tex_hallowed.shtml Hello All, In this morning's newspaper here in Amarillo was a great article on the front page about a man near here who is restoring a prarie graveyard over 100 years old. He has researched some of the people who are buried there and is attempting to re-erect some of the markers and has organized an effort to get a fence around it. Well, ya'll read the rest of the story. I plan on contacting this news reporter and the Alanreed man, Delbert Trew and see if he will furnish an inventory of the people who are buried there. I will post it to Rootsweb when I get this information. Good reading! Ruth There are two groups of people. Those who divide people into two groups, and those who don't.
