Hello all! I just started this web site recently and finally got my Tate information (I have two different Tate families here) up onto the site. Please feel free to visit!!! http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~boncella/index.html Good luck with your searches! Tammy Boncella bonbon624@aol.com
I don't have a web site but wanted to mention.......I almost never see anything on this TATE list about Yorkshire TATEs. Is there anyone searching for TATE in Yorkshire? Marg B.C., Canada

Well, here's mine. I hesitated to post since I think I am the only one researching this line of TATES from the midwest. Most seem to be from the south. http://community-2.webtv.net/bob543w7/TATEONTHEWEB/ Bob
Just a thought. While the mailing lists are a great source of info along with other sites like Ancestry.com and Cyndislist, I also have gotten great information off of personal web pages of researchers. The only draw back is trying to find them! I know there are alot, like me, who use these and bookmark them but we need to get them out to others. Maybe if we have a "roll call" of sorts for great web sites we have found with a brief description of what area or information they cover? Example: www.ovis.net/~billcham/ This is a great page for Wetzel Co, operated by Bill Cunningham, which I have found more info and connections off of then I could have ever gotten from Ancestry. I also started using another little trick to run these sites to ground since the search engines were not doing the job. Most of your smaller communities use a smaller server. Bill uses "ovis.net". So I type in www.ovis.net click on the section for "personal" pages hosted by ovis.net. You then can scroll down to see what home pages are listed from this site. It tells you a brief description of each one. Just click and go. Also you can use this if you know of an area by searching for the service provider. New Martinsville offers rcvideo.com, they also list home pages but also under links provide a genealogy link site to surrounding counties with reseachers homepages. Maybe this isn't something new to others but I stumbled onto this about 6 months ago on a late night gen searching feast! So if anyone has any web sites they want to share other then the very popular ones, lets see what we can find, Merry Ann

She and Holland had 8 children: Coleman, b. July 19, 1800; Lemuel, b. circa 1801; Sarah, b. circa 1804; Lydia, b. circa 1807; Holland Sanders, b. July 9, 1812; Louisa, b. circa 1814; Joel Sanders, b. January 21, 1815 and Unknown Male, b. circa 1820. Any help would be appreciated. Faye fayefayerussell@aol.com
I am the grandson of James Robert Tate (I understand that some sourses claim he was named James Carroll Tate) b. abt 1888 in Kansas City, MO and the son of James Butts Tate & Caroline (or Callie) Hart Cordell. I never knew my grandfather. It seems he and my grandmother Gladys Marie Hoffman divorced in about 1922. Anyone know anything about James Robert Tate? I know he remarried a woman named Cecilia (first name - last name unknown) and that he died about 1967. He had two additional children with Cecilia, Mary Ellen, and James Robert Jr. That's about all I know. I sure would love to find out more about my grandfather. If you can be of any help, I would be extreamly greatfull. Thanks, Thomas Hays Boisseau
I understand the books "English Family History" by Nadine English Watson, and "Leaves from the Family Tree" by Penelope Johnson Allen both contain numerous references to my Tate ancestors. Anyone know where I can find either or both of these books? I am the grandson of James Robert Tate (I understand that some sourses claim is was named James Carroll Tate) b. abt 1888 in Kansas City, MO and the son of James Butts Tate & Caroline (or Callie) Hart Cordell. Please email me direct. Thanks so much, Thomas Hays Boisseau

TATE, Mary M.; McKeesport, Pa. USA; c 1830 Mary M. (HELLER) TATE was the daughter of George & Isabella (WARREN) HELLER. The TATEs lived in McKeesport, Pa. If you should have any information on this lady, I would like to exchange info with you. Thank you. Bob Hewitt Hollidaysburg, Pa. ranhewitt@webtv.net
Just found out that my William W. TATE may have married twice in Hunt County, Texas. First to Eudora COCHRAN in 1884 then to Mary "May" COCKE somewhere around 1893/4. Are there any TATE's on the list that knows of the family of Eudora "Dora" COCHRAN and W.W. TATE sometimes called "Judge TATE " ? Thanks ! Rebecca Tate1899Shells@webtv.net

Hello everyone, this appeared on the Clay Co. Illinois list and it has been asked to be passed to whatever lists we all belong to. so if this is a duplicate I am sorry but I thought it was great that this person is so willing to share.
