    3. I was searching the egroups for genealogy and came aross this site SurnameSearchDaily@egroups.com It is free to subscribe and they send out a daily "surname search" list. I have found it very useful and they also list the harder to find web pages where people post data to. Example would be like a small area in a county where as Rootsweb would do the whole county. On todays list was the link below. It was helpful to my cousin and I thought someone else might want to check it out. You might also want to do a search on the egroup site to see if anyone is researching the area or name your looking for. http://genealogysearch.org/index.html#surnames

    3. Hi All! Hoping someone can help me with this. Grace Alice TATE was born 4-13-1889 in Gainsville, (I think it was Cooke County) Texas. She died in Hemet, Riverside Co., California on August 13, 1973. Grace married Glaves L. FIRESTONE (not sure when or where, but prior to 1918). Glaves and Grace had two children: Nollis and Hayden. My husband's grandfather was Nollis. I am looking for information on Grace's parents and siblings. The only thing that I know of is that Grace has a brother named "Fred" maybe?? My mother-in-law is very unsure. Nollis died when she was only 16. So, we do not know alot about Grace. Hoping someone can help me out. Thank you in advance. 1. [TATE-L] William Tate in Pendleton County, SC, and Habersham and Cobb County, GA
    2. Larry Holland
    3. Does anyone have any information about William Tate, who was living in Union District, SC, in 1790, in Pendleton County, SC, in 1810 and 1820, in Habersham County, GA, in 1830, and in Cobb County, GA, in 1840. In 1830, he lived next to John Tate, who married his daughter, Belyra Tate (I am not sure of the spelling for Belyra.) John and Belyra had a son named John Tate Pence who married Sarah Jane Wheeler in Benton County, AL, which is next to Polk County, GA. I am fairly sure about this information, but don't have any definite documentation to prove it other than the census records and the information passed on to me by my grandmother, Eda Frances Pence Marshall, who was the youngest daughter of John Tate and Sarah Jane Wheeler Pence. I would appreciate any information that will help me to further document this and add to the information that I have, especially the parents of William Tate and his wife's names. Thanks to anyone who can help me. Larry Holland lholland@farmerstel.com

    3. While I don't have anything on Mary (Heller) Tate of McKeesport, I do descend from the Bedford County, Pennsylvania, Tates and have a reasonable quantity of information on that line (but lose them quickly as they leave Bedford County). It looks to me like two of the children of Samuel Rock Tate (b. 1730), who sailed to the US in his own ship in 1763, reportedly selling that ship when they reached the US, two of his sons went to the Chambersburg, Pa, area and stayed for awhile, while most of the family ended up in North Carolina. The son that I descend from, Samuel Robert Tate, who married (first) Elizabeth Alexander, and (second) Jane Mary HAMILTON (I descend from their son, Joseph Walker Tate), eventually bought a lot of land in Bedford County. I'd be willing to share info if any of you are interested in this line of the "northern" Tates... - Jeff R -----Original Message----- From: LEITHER-EDGMON [mailto:LEITHER-EDGMON@prodigy.net] Sent: Sunday, December 03, 2000 12:00 PM To: TATE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TATE-L] TATE, Mary M.; McKeesport, Pa.
