A GENEALOGY OF THE CHADICK AND CHADDICK FAMILY LINES OF THE UNITED STATES by Wm. D. Chadick Oracle Press Inc, 1979 (Wm. D. Chadick, 11 Oakland Terrace, Mobile AL 36604) p 41-42 CHADOCK-CHADDOCK CHADICK-CHADDICK RESEARCH IN MARYLAND Richard Chadock, a probable brother to Thomas, left a will in Queene Anne County, MD listing his wife Elizabeth (Foreman), his sons Richard, James, John, Charles and William. Daughters listed were Ann Ewing, Sarah Clark, Rachael Clark and Rebecca Gorman. Also listed were 2 representatives, Frances Howard and Rebecca Gorman. A son of this Richard Chaddock, also recorded as Richard Chaddock of Queene Anne County left a will that revealed that his Administratrix and wife was Margaret Chaddock, 2 sons: Richard and James and a daughter Elizabeth. In the Appendix will be found the evidence that has been gathered on these families to date, which reveals that Richard Chadick was an heir of John Green Deceased; that his wife was Esther Green, apparent daughter of John Green, that they were married in 1783 in Henry County, VA and migrated to Orangeburg Dist SC about the year 1783-1786. The Green family was prominent in Henry Co VA. Also listed as marrying in Henry Co VA was an Elizabeth Chadwick who married a John Sumter on 27 May 1784. Should proof be obtained that Richard Chadick and this Elizabeth "Chadwick" were brother and sister, this possibly may be sufficient documentation as being children of Richard and Margaret Chadock of Queene Anne Co MD. p 45-45A VIRGINIA RESEARCH ON CHADICK-CHADWICK Records are available in Botetourt, Campbell and Montgomery Counties of a William Chadwick. His name in VA has been spelled with dozens of variant spellings and thus difficult to document his identity. He was killed in 1784 in Botetourt County. Such variant spellings as Chaddicks, Chiddicks, Chidex, etc are recorded in areas where he was known to have been. 2 apparent sons, always recorded in Capt. Martin's District, were Richard and Isaac Chadwick. Richard Chadwick is apparently the Richard Chadwick that married Esther Green, daughter of John Green, of Henry Co. Richard and Esther married in 1783 in Henry Co, and with her father and other Green relatives, migrated to Winton Co, as well as later in Barnwell District SC identify this Richard "Chadwick" and his wife Esther Green Chadwick actually as Chadick. See appendix for documentation. Richard Chadick and Esther's oldest son, Richard (b 1786 Winton CO) who when grown married Faribu Rogers and about the year 1812 migrated on to Amite Co MS, where he can be traced from that time, step by step up to present date through his descendants. Isaac Chadwick, as apparent brother to Richard, was in and out of Rowan Co NC in the late 1780s and appeared in various records with Richard in the 1780s in Botetourt Co VA. He apparently migrated about the year 1790, and settled near Richard in Edgefield Dist SC. The 1800 census reveals that both Richard and Isaac were born no earlier than 1755. From other date obtained and shown in the apendix, Richard and Isaac both were born between 1755 and 1760. Isaac's wife has not been documented, however a calculated guess would be a "Damerias". It is very probable that they were the parents of Asa Chadick (1780-1859) and Martin Chadick (1785-1840) Prior to their apparent father, William "Chaddicks" of Botetourt Co VA, a Henry Chadock is noted in various deeds in this area. In James City Co VA, where known Chadick families existed, a Henry Chadock also appears on various deeds, thus also indicating a relationship between the Botetourt Chadicks and the known James City Co Chadicks. Additional research is needed in Botetourt, Campbell and Montgomery counties and is a suggested area of research for future Chadick researchers seeking additional evidence to document the Chadick information indicated. p 56 RICHARD CHADICK (CHADDICK) (1760-1803) ...Richard Chadick (1760-1803) died in 1803 in Barnwell Dist SC....Richard, his widowed mother and his family migrated about 1812 to Amite Co MS. Asa Chadick (1780-1859) migrated to Wayne Co MS in the same year. From the year 1812 in Amite Co MS, this spelling of Chadick evolved to Chaddick.... p 59 LINEAGE OF RICHARD CHAD(D)ICK (1755-1804) OF BARNWELL DISTRICT SC RICHARD CHADICK b ca1755 probably in VA migrated to Orangeburg Dist SC ca 1786 died ca 2 Apr 1804, Barnwell Dist SC md 11 Jan 1783, Henry Co VA to Esther Green b ca 1765, daughter of John Green. On death of Richard Chadick, Esther and children migrated to Amite Co MS ca 1810 Probably sons: (1) Richard Chadick (2) Isaac Chadick (3) Sarah Chaddick md Jesse Young (author omitted) p 152 LINEAGE OF ISAAC CHADDICK (1793-1857) ALSO SPELLED CHADWICK, SHADDOCKS, CHADDOCKS ETC OF AMITE CO MS Contributed by Mr Bobby Brown, Jena LA ....This Isaac Chaddick is 1st found recorded with Richard Chaddick on the 1816 census of Amite Co MS as well as recorded on tax digest and marriage licenses. It is known that he remained in Amite Co until after 1820. All material that has been researched indicates that this Isaac Chadick was a brother to Richard Chadick (b 1786 sc) who resided also in Amite Co, however the above contributor has a record that his parents were Asa Chaddick (Chadwick) and Annie Lou Allen. Unfortunately the contributor does not know the source of this evidence, however it is recorded in his family records. Isaac Chaddick married Sarah Tarver in Amite Co on 8 Aug 1816. Esther Chadick (widow of Richard Chadick) and mother of the Richard Chadick in Amite Co also remarried a John Tarver in Amite Co on 30 Jun 1811. Isaac & Sarah Chaddick had a son, Thomas, born 1822 and no further information is known on him. They had 2 daughters Betsy Elizabeth & Nancy. The line of Isaac & Sarah can be brought to present date through his 2 daughters. Isaac and family migrated to La Salle and Catahoula Parishes LA where he died after 1850. p 165 LINEAGE OF GEORGE S CHAD(D)ICK OF NEWTON CO TX George Chadick was the apparent father of William Chadick (1796-1856).
