    3. According to the Alcander Tarver manuscript, Etheldred Jordan Tarver and his wife Harriet Jane McNair had [among others] sons Robert Martin Tarver [b 1841] and John R. Tarver [no dates given]. Robert married Mary Ann Denton. John R. Tarver married Martha Burson and had Jane Rebecca Tarver. Could John R. Tarver be John Robert Tarver? I have Noah [Smith?] Tarver marrying Narcissa Youngblood. Noah died in GA in 1892 according to one family member, now deceased. I believe that Noah was a son of <my> Mark Tarver [Sr], but Alcander Tarver's manuscript puts him in the family of Robert Tarver, son of Etheldred Tarver who married Nancy Robinson. Unfortunately with this manuscript no sources are mentioned, except the possibility of an old Bible record. I can not believe that that record could have had listed ALL the Tarvers given in the manuscript. Nowheres in her manuscript does Alcander have anything on Mark Tarver's family since he was not directly connected to the Etheldred Tarver line. His obit stated that he had 12 or 13 children. I have assumed that the Tarvers grouped around each other [and my ancestor Oliver HP Byne] in Burke Co GA were his children. One son for sure was Roberson [or Robert] Tarver, b 18 Apr 1825. who married Florence Auly Burdick. Mark's obit was among the family Bible records for the Roberson Tarver family. Two other sons of Mark Tarver [Sr], Thomas Tarver who had children born in Texas, and Mark A. Tarver, went to Texas. A son of Mark A. Tarver, Wilson Tarver married Elizabeth Youngblood, then the widow of Wilson's uncle Allen Tarver, and moved to Birmingham AL. Based on my premise that the children of Mark and Sarah [Greenway] Tarver were grouped around each other in Burke Co GA, I list Caroline ["Carrie" who married Oliver Hazard Perry Byne-my ancestors], Thomas, Noah [Jr] , Roberson, Etheldred ["Dred"], Mark A., John N. and Oliver G. There were at least two other children of Mark by his first wife Eva Arden, one of whom was Allen Tarver. Some of the above has not been confirmed and is simply taken from correspondence fron Tarver cousins over 20 or so years. If anyone else has FIRM evidence to refute my conclusion about the family of Mark Tarver [Sr], I would very much appreciate hearing. Thanks.
