    3. This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------1B630760481E9C089E628C1A Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Last week I posted the following message on the tarver-genealogy forum: "Has anyone been able to make the connection between Wilson TARVER (b. 1804) and John TARVER (b. 1727), wife of Sarah Rogers? I still can not sort out the connection. Is John Rogers TARVER ( b. ??) the missing link ?" Since that time, I have found some older family records of relatives who worked on this matter several years ago. The papers have the following lineage, and I would appreciate any feedback someone may have on this matter, as it does not quite fit other things that I have founbd, although several sites that I have looked at have differing versions of the line: Hollis Lafayette Tarver (1909), son of Hollis Wilson Tarver (1885) [and Lillian Virginia Deare], son of Chrisopher Columbus Tarver (1855) [and Mary Bigner], son of Samuel Wilson Tarver (1825) [and Mary Ann Lilly], son of (Samuel) Wilson Tarver (1796 OR 1804) [and Melinda Cockerham], son of THOMAS TARVER ( ??) [and Judy Cockerham], son of John Tarver. Again, the dates do not quite match up, so the "John Tarver" in question here is still a mystery. There is probably at least one Tarver missing from the link between "John Tarver and Sarah Rogers" and the "John Tarver, father of Thomas Tarver" in question. Also, from what I gather looking at the Tarver-Cockerham connection, several of these family members married, thus complicating the picture even more. Any help is appreciated. --------------1B630760481E9C089E628C1A Content-Type: text/x-vcard; charset=us-ascii; name="mtarver.vcf" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Description: Card for Dr. H. 3. You can go to the map on rootsweb. I think you go to <http://www.rootsweb.com> then you click on states, then the state you want (Mississippi), then you click on Mississippi Genweb Project, then you are taken to the state page, on the Mississippi page you click on (County Map) and this will have links to that counties genweb project. Sorry this is so weird, but if you can't get there email me. 3. Thanks -Lotus- for clearing off one son of Mark Tarver [Sr] and possibly others, including Mark Tarver [Jr].. But could there be two Noah Tarver's? In my draft of the family of Mark Tarever [Sr] I had assumed that the Noah Tarver was Noah SMITH Tarver, though I questioned the Smith part. Before her passing, Effie Stone named a son of Mark Tarver as Mark Tarver [Jr] who went to Texas in correspondence to me from the late Hugh Vallotton. So confusion as always in this Tarver research reigns. But your citation from the will as I read it is that Elizabeth Tarver the WIFE OF MARK TARVER is the heir. So Mark <<who went to Texas>> is still a posible son of Mark Trver [Sr]. If so, then Thomas must be another.. What other records are you aware of pertaining to the Burke Co. Tarvers. Since the records for Burke Co were burned, such info in other counties or states, as the will you cite, are most valuable. ---------- >From: LotusC <lotusc@tyler.net> >To: TARVER-L@rootsweb.com, "Edgar Taylor" <ertjr@sgi.net> >Subject: TARVERS of Georgia >Date: Sat, Jul 24, 1999, 6:38 AM > >Regarding Noah S. Hillhouse, Noah Smith Tarver and his wife Narcissa Youngblood (and several of their children) are buried at Hopeful Baptist Cemetery in Burke County, Georgia. They were married on Jun 07, 1822 in Richmond Co., Georgia, according to Georgia Marriage Records: 1754-1850. These records support the lineage as put forth in Alcander Tarvers manuscript. Also noted in Grave Markers in Burke County as buried at Hopewell are several children of Robinson Tarver and wife Anley Vurdic ... This couple is probably the Ed identifies below: >Co GA were his children. One son for sure was Roberson [or Robert] Tarver, >b 18 Apr 1825. who married Florence Auly Burdick. Palmer and Benjamin Palmer, residents of Burke County, Georgia, and James Brandon in Richmond County, Georgia. The said Elizabeth Smith left the following heirs at law: Your petitioner, a son, over 21, of Marengo County, Alabama. Winifred Patterson, wife of Robert L. Patterson, of Jefferson County, Georgia. Benjamin Brown, 20 years, California (Brown?), aged 16, John Brown, aged 14, Melton Brown, aged 12, Isabella Brown, aged 10, and Julia Brown, aged 6, all children of Martha Brown the wife of James S. Brown, who was a daughter of said Elizabeth Brown and who died before her, all of Burke County, Georgia. ... Noah Tarver and Etheldred Tarver, over 21, of Burke County, Georgia and Elizabeth Tarver, wife of Mark Tarver, over 21, Horton County, Texas, Winifred Youngblood the wife of Abram Youngblood, aged about 20, of Jefferson County, Georgia, Robert B. Tarver, aged about 18, and Smith Tarver, about 16, both of Burke County, Georgia, and all children of Ava Tarver, who was the wife of Robert Tarver and a daughter of the testator, and who died before her.
