    3. I think these Tardy's were very mysterious people so I know your problem. My ancestor, John Tardy, has been my brick wall for a long time. He was born October 6, 1737 but where and who were parents ? He married in Mass. and went to Nova Scotia C: 1774. He was the Capt. of a Brigantine out of Salem, Mass. I have always thought he might connect to a Maryland Tardy family. You might look into that for your people. I have also wondered if your line connected to the Quebec Tardy's. Some of them came down to Mass. I know several people have been doing work on this family. Sorry I am no help. 3. I've got a huge brick wall with this one....my third great grandfather, Alexis Tardy, born in LaRochelle, Manche, Basse-Normande, France in 1774, came from plantation (his? His father's?) on island of Haiti (now called), called Ste Domingue (French side), during the revolution there. He landed in Philadelphia (maybe Asylum, or Asilim, built for French Loyalists outside of Philadelphia. There are so many questions that I have about him so if he is on your ancestry line, and you have more information about what ship he was on, what occupation he had in Philadelphia, did he naturalize, anything about that period and his life. I have all the information after he married Ann Catherine Levenberg or Leisenberg? But don't know much about her and hope you do. Dee

    3. I have been looking for the 5th child of Capt John Tardy who married in 1755 in Marblehead, Mass. About 1774 he and family went to Nova Scotia but it looks like his son, John,Jr and the unknown child did not go. Their 3 daughters went to N S with them. In 1760's John, Sr was Capt of a Brigantine. -----Original Message----- From: tardif-tardy-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:tardif-tardy-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of sandra cona Sent: Monday, March 28, 2011 3:09 PM To: TARDIF-TARDY@rootsweb.com Subject: [TARDIF-TARDY] Edward Tardy Looking for anyone with information on the Tardy's/Tardies of Rhode Island and Attleboro MA. 2. Try going on Facebook.com and look up David Gammon. He has a hudge handle on the Tardifs and I believe his mothers name is Gloria. There is also a site of the Tardifs on ancestory.com. Just type in Tardif on Google and it will come up. There is a Henry tardif that might be able to help you> Gail Tardif Hawkins In a message dated 8/15/2009 7:09:17 P.M. 2. I checked "The Tardifs of North America" - couldn't find a listing for Edward Tardy or Elizabeth Martin. I think your best bet would be to find their marriage license. It should give parents names and where they were from. Best of luck, Lucy

    2. Hi John, Have you tried to get a copy of their marriage record, hopefully it would list their parents. I have a 'Tardif /Tardy' marriage book from the 'Tardif Society' in Quebec. Unfortunately the best I could find is an Edmond married to a Ozithee Martin 05-05-1894 Presqu Ile, ME. The names may have become more Americanized. Another unfortunate is that the Society cannot as yet identify this Edmond to a forefather of the Tardif surname. Your list of children for your Edward and their spouses will definitely help in future book. Let me know if you make connection. Tony Tardif In a message dated 8/15/2009 7:09:07 P.M.
