I am hoping that someone here can help me out. I am having a hard time locating information on a man named Peter Streiff from Schwanden, Glarus. I have contacted the Landesacrchiv in Glarus and the only Peter that they can find with the same birthdate as mine most likely isn't the Peter I'm looking for. The marriage date is also the same but the wifes name is no where near the one I have which is Fredericka FERN. The information also states that the first wife, Regula STREIFF died and he remarried in New Glarus, Wisconsin to a Magdalena KNOBEL. As far as all the sources of information I have on my Peter he never remarried or lived in Wisconisin Who else can I contact to find out if there is another Peter out there with the same birthdate? Also, does anyone know if there is a surname of FERN in the Glarus area. Landesarchivs tell me there are no FERN's in the area. Thank you for any help, Janet Strief
