I am researching the Waelty, Waelti, Waelte [ae=a with umlaut] families who emigrated from Switzerland to Germany or America in the 18th century. I am especially interested in any information on Christian Waelty and Jacob Waelti or other families of the Shofltland, Canton Aargau area who emigrated to the Zweibrucken Germany area about 1705. I am also researching the immigrants on the ship St. Andrew that arrived in Philadelphia PA in August 1750. Many names are also in the church records of the Germantown Reformed Church (suburb of Philadelphia) and First Reformed Church of Philadelphia PA. Caspar Waldy who may be my ancestor was on board along with Swiss immigrants from the region northeast of Zurich and the region north of Bern. I believe the Swiss origins of at least 12 of the 102 adult passengers can be identified and possibly several others. The pastor at Germantown Reformed Church from 1753-1755 was Rev. Conrad Steiner from Winterthur. I am seeking information on these passengers and there Swiss origins. Dennis Welty
