The following is what I found: Application No. 642 Vol. 1 14 Jan 1839 Pierre (Peter) Meyer Citizen of Blumenstein, Berne Living in Corgemont (Berne) Farmer Age 44 years 5 months 4 days Destination U.S.A. His wife: Marguerite Müller age 38 and their 8 children A full description of his appearance is given. I hope this will help you. As he is a citizen of Blumenstein, all details of his descendency and ancestry can be found in the Church Records of that community, as well as in the community where he resided.     3. Hi Yvonne! How nice of you to help the Switzerland-List out so magnificently! Can you tell me if : 1. Since WHEN are/were Swiss Passport Applications recorded in Berne? 2. Did Swiss citizens from ALL Kantons have to apply to Bern (the seat of Swiss Government from what date?) for a passport??? 3. If so, are All such passport applications now stored in the Bern Archives and accessible for research? Thanks!
