I am trying to trace my family back. They come from the Bernese Oberland region. Can anyone help with first steps. I know dates of birth and snippets of information, but were is it best to start. i.e, we have the Records OFfice in London and County Offices and Census Returns. Are such things available for Switzerland? Can you get to them online? Many thanks.
