My Minder ancestors claimed citizenship in Huttwil, BE and I have many pages of Burger Register information for many of my Swiss ancestors. I understand that births, marriages and deaths were recorded in the town where the family claimed citizenship, even if the event occured elsewhere. My question is this. Is it safe to assume that if no other place is listed for an event, then it occured in the town where it was recorded? Specifically, if my Huttwil Burger Register pages don't mention a place of birth, marriage or death for someone, does that mean the event occured in Huttwil? Thanks!
