My grandfather was Manuel Esmeraldo Salis Gonzalez, born in Santiago de Cuba about 1892. I seek information on the SALIS family that migrated to Cuba before 1892. The Salis men in the generation of the 1840s-1860s had wives with Spanish names, so I assume they were in Cuba or Spain at that time. I don't know when the migration to Cuba occurred, and I don't know whether it was from Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, or someplace else. Help!
