The Geelong Family History Group has compiled a booklet detailing Swiss immigrants to the area. Geelong is now the 2nd largest city in Victoria. >From c.1842 Swiss vine growers arrived in the area to develop their wine making skills. Most came from Neuchatel, Vaud and Bern. Others came from near the German border. Some of the names lised are: Amiet, Belperroud, Breguet, Burkhart, Dardel, Deppeler, Gugger, Hammerli, Imer, Marendaz, Muhlebach, Perdrisat, Pettavel, Tetaz, Schefferele, Tribolet, Weber plus many others.
