Can someone what language most Swiss people speak? German I assume. Could some tell me some of the big cities of Switzerland & soem of the ports of departure back in the late 1890's let's say. I am trying ot familiarize myself to German names so I can start with my Raber lines, doing Swiss reseach. Simple things are the best to understand. My husband's family came over to USA, to the Ohio area, in late 19th century, with two brothers, John, Chris, & 2 kids, 4 & possibly 6 years old. His name was Peter Raber.
