In 1995 there was also an article on Ehrenzeller of St.Gallen, published in the Year Book of SGFF (Swiss Genealogical Society - http://sgff.genealogy.net) : "Ehrenzeller, Ernst: Nachkommen der St. Galler Familie Ehrenzeller in Pennsylvanien SA". It dealt mainly with a line emigrating to USA, and I would have to check whether it contained info on the origin of the name. This is not mentioned by Mario von Moos (published in 1993) for obvious reasons ;-). Unfortunately the author, a leading historian in canton St.Gallen, died a few years ago.
