Ann - with most Windows fonts this will be ALT+0163 £ Windows includes a utility program "CharMap" found in the Accessories folder on the Start Menu. It shows which characters are found in a particular (selectable) font [not all fonts will have the same extended characters], and when you select a given character the ALT+ codes are shown in the lower right corner. One may also copy characters, then paste using the standard Windows Control-V shortcut.
