    1. RE: [SWITZ] Looking for KADERLI relations
    2. Dear Lisa: Joe indicates that you need to check the "Bern Canton Microfilm records." Information about this can be found be starting at: http://swiss.genealogy.net/ldsloc-m.htm and clicking on the BE (Bern) canton link. This will take you to the LDS FamilySearch website and lists all the villages in the canton of BE. (Any canton's villages can also be viewed by starting in SwissGen). You will find Mülchi listed there along with information about what is contained on the microfilms. The following was found on the LDS website for Mülchi: "Parish baptisms of the Protestant Reformed Church congregation of Bernisch Messen, comprising Bangerten bei Dieterswil, Etzelkofen, Mülchi, Ruppoldsried, and Scheunen, Ct. Berne, Switzerland. Events recorded outside the parish are usually not in chronological order. Most volumes contain their own indexes. Messen, at one time administered by Ct. Solothurn and Ct. Berne, is now wholly part of Ct. Solothurn." So, I would also look in the canton of SO (Solothurn) in the village of Messen for more of the records of Mülchi. best wishes, Dave Schmutz -----Original Message----- From: Joseph E. In Swiss Surnames the Kaderli name appears in Mulchi (umlauted u) from before 1800. Most of the Church books for Bern have now been filmed and are available through your local family history center. Other places in Bern where the name appears are: Frutigen - from 1956 * (an asterisk indicates that anceestry is unknown or that the right of citizenship exists due to special statutory rules (adoption, divorceetc). Benedict had two older brothers that also emmigrated to Texas: Jacob & Johannes. And two sisters: Anna Barbara "Belena", who married Abraham Louis BUECHE; and Marie KADERLI, who married Friedrich FAIGAUX. Does anyone recognize these KADERLI families? Would love to find the parents of Benedict! Thank you, Lisa Williams Texas
