Checked through the Swiss Surnames books and did not find the name with any spelling or variation of.. Also checked under "C"...I also checked Mario Van Moos " Bibliography of Swiss Genealogies" and did not find anything there either. It could be a name that died out in Switzerland many years ago as you mention they might be Swiss-Palatine - many of the Swiss went to the Palatinate in the early 1700's and also in the 1600's to help repopulate the region and because of religious persec- ution in Switzerland. You don't say the time you are checking so checked "Penna. German Pioneers " Strassberger and Hinke and again no luck. Sorry.
