Hi, listers, well good news of sorts in my ancestorial hunt...i finally found my family back in Cevio, Ticino....at least back to 1672. I have a perplexing question? Why would the Roman Catholic Church change a family's surname in 1831? The name i know of is FILIPPINI, but back in church manuscripts its spelled 11 different ways.? And mostly with a "P" and then different ways within. Can someone help me? If you think your answer would bennefit the list you may post there or to me privately. Thanks "Genealogists never die, they just loose their census, or their roots...."
