My great-great-great-great grandmother Anna Zwahlen was born between 1732 and 1740 near Guggisberg, Canton Bern. She had a brother named Christian. I've found five people baptized at Guggisberg during these years who meet all these specifications and could be her. Now it's time to sort them out. Has anyone else worked with this family? Received word today: This is addressed to all who have attbi.com/net addresses Please do not discuss this on the list. Just be fore-warned. I will monitor the changes of addresses since the move will leave some of you stranded. Quoting from another person who notified... Yes, today's paper carried news that all those poor former @home people in Oregon and SW Washington who had to switch to @attbi.com not too long ago are in for another switch to @comcast.net. It's the result of Comcast acquiring AT&T Broadband. From the Portland Oregonian, " . . . starting next Tuesday, new cable-Internet subscribers will receive accounts ending with @comcast.net. The company also told [regulators] that if an AT&T customer's user name . . . matches that of a Comcast user, the AT&T customer will need to select another user name." W. David Samuelsen, listowner
I am researching the surnames of Caspar & Ehalt , my Great Great Grandparents were Louis Theodore Caspar & Clara Ehalt they were married on the 5 Jan 1847 in Schaffhausen . Would the marriage tell me anything about them & where would I get a copy ? Where can I get birth certificates ? Also is Schiltich a suburb of Schaffhausen ? Lynn Humphreys
Dear Searchers: I have found villages of 7 or 8 houses by using this site - www.multimap.com. Sometimes you have to play around a little in order to tie it to some more recognizable town, but it works very well and it is free. Thank you for all your tips - I have now gotten past a 30 yr brick wall! Marlena Marlena Feuz Amalfitano [email protected] fax: 775-239-6394
I am at the point where I need to send for records from Canton Glarus. Am fairly good at finding things in U S, but haven't the faintest idea of what records to send for, or to whom. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Nancy

Hi Listers: I am researching my gr gr grandmother, Anna KELLER, from Frick, Aargu, Switzerland, born 23 Feb 1858. She married my gr gr grandfather, Johann BENZINGER, from Bodman am See Konstans, Baden, Germany on 12 May 1881 in Bodman and they later came to America. Their first child, Anna was born 8 Jan 1883 in Louisville, KY. Anna KELLER died 6 May, 1923 in Louisville, KY. Until today when I received a copy of her death certificate I did not even know her birthdate. Unfortunately, the certificate listed her parents and their birthplaces as unknown. If anyone is researching this same Keller and willing to share names of parents and birthplaces, I would be most appreciative. Thank you in advance. Lynn

Hello List Friends, this is my first post and I need help. I am trying to trace my g mother's early life before she emigrated to the US sometime after 1875. She was the daughter of Fredric Arnold Albrecht KACHELHOFER and Rosalie Sophie Carline GRUNDER. She was born in Interlochen Berne Switzerland on 18 Mar 1858. She married Joseph Halberg in Köln, Germany 11 Nov 1874 (at 16 yrs). Her family emigrated to the US before 1871. I do not know what happened to her husband Joseph Halberg but she married my g father Ernst Ulrich WINTTER 21 Aug 1881. Some records show the marriage taking place in Württemberg, Germany. However her family had settled in Florence, Alabama where other siblings were born. I guess I am looking for the circumstances of the first marriage and how, when and where she met and married my grandfather. Any help that you can offer will be appreciated. John Wintter email: [email protected]
