Born Sept. 7, 1939, he was a son of the late Wilburn A. and Cecil Mae Sweet. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Ray Sweet Sr. and Michael Sweet. Survivors include his wife, Ora Lee Sweet of the home; three sons, Gary Sweet, Rondal Sweet and Billy Sweet; three daughters, Debbie Wike, Kathy Vance and Patricia Sweet; four brothers, Johnny Sweet, Rayford Sweet, Bud Sweet and Michael Sweet; a sister, Linda Pittman; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted by the Rev. Bobby Langston at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Catawba Funerals & Cremations. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will be in The Celebration of Life Room at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. Catawba Funerals & Cremations is providing professional services to the Sweet family.
