Hello list, I have a SWEET line on my family tree and my husband one on his. My line is sketchy at best. I hope there is someone on the list that may be connected that can fill in some blanks. My gggg uncle was Enoch WENTWORTH II who was born 13 Aug 1800 in Barrettson, Maine. I don't know when or where he died. He was the son of Lamuel/Lemuel WENTWORTH SR and Susan/Susanna WHITTMORE. Enoch married Ruth SWEET. All I know about Ruth is that she was born in 1806 and died in 1899. They had 4 children that I know of; 1. William Otis WENTWORTH born 1826 married Thankful Irish PHILBRICK. She was born 1822 and died 1901. 2. Lydia Jane WENTWORTH born 1826 married (not sure if this is right) Ezra Jane ROBERTS born 1827 3. Lemuel WENTWORTH born 1832 died 1861 married Lucy White SAWYER 4. Martha Ann WENTWORTH born 1839 married Elias Henry DAVIS. As you can see I don't know much of anything on the SWEET side but sure would like to. My husbands SWEET line is; His ggg grandmother was Fannie SWEET born 1802 in PA died 14 Mar 1875. She married Amherst CARPENTER son of Obidah CARPENTER and Mary TYLER. Fannie was the daughter of Captain Ashael SWEET and Nancy TIFFANY; granddaughter of Amos SWEET and Hannah RICHARDSON and great granddaughter of John SWEET and Sarah CLAFIN according to my records although I have no proof one way or the other. Fannie and Amherst I believe had 4 children 1. my husband's gg grandfather Stephen Emerson CARPENTER born 19 Aug 1822 Harford, Susquehanna, PA died 1903 married Hannah Eliza TIFFANY born 26 Dec 1823 Brooklyn, Susquehanna, PA died 14 Jun 1872 Harford, Susquehanna, PA. 2. Lorenzo who died in 1890 3. Alonzo 4. Lovisa born 1822 PA married Addison DIMMICK in 1853 Susquehanna, PA If you connect to this family I have more information just ask. Eileen, I have a strong Sweet line in Maine and Canada. Your husband's family connects to mine in a convoluted way. I should mention that in the attempt to find my own Sweet line, I have put nearly every Sweet line I can find in in whatever way they connect, however distantly. I had Amos Sweet and Hannah Richardson and their son, Asahel, but no more information about him. I have added what you sent. As for your own line, I believe we may also connect but do not have the connection. I have 3 Enoch Wentworth's, b. 1766, 1802, 1823. I also have 2 Lemuel Wentworth's one born 1754, one in the 1730's. I also have a Lydia as the sister of Lemuel and a Martha. I have 12 William's. Lemuel and Lydia were the children of Sion and Hannah (Pettingill) Wentworth. They had 7 children born in the 1750-1760 time frame. They lived in Maine, near the southwestern part. From what I can tell, this is one of those peripheral lines I put in in the hopes I would connect them at some point. I also have a LOT of Philbricks, no Thanksfuls, alas. Where is Barretson, Maine??
