He was born 23 July 1913 in Tomball, Harris County, TX. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in 1942 and worked as an airplane instrument mechanic and achieved the rank of s/sergeant. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He served many years with the Texas Department of Highways and was supervisor of the instrumet repair shop at the Camp Mabry location in Austin. He was a Lutheran. Predeceased by parents, (Charlie Davis Sweet and Mary Nancy Dunks Sweet); his wife of 64 years Esther Nerkowski Sweet; sisters Mary Ann Parks and Margaret Sweet and brothers, Ben, Charlie, Jimmie, JB and Lou Sweet. Survived by seven nephews, Murry, Belton, Melvin, Wesley, Charles Sweet,Lou Sweet Jr. and Larry Falk; three nieces, Betty Lee, Jo Ann Williamson and Peggy Faulk; great niece Cheryl Bailey of Bastrop, niece Debra Nerkowski Ficklin of LIberty Hill. Interment in Capital Memorial Park in Pflugerville. Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. (512)452-8811.
