    1. Daniel[4] son of James[3] son of John[2] (RI)

    3. I call your attention to the will of James Sweet of Coweset (Warwick, RI) written on 1717/8 Feb 10 and proved 1719 Jul 18 by his widow Jane Sweet and son Nathaniel Sweet. The will mentions several children, beginning with son Daniel, but the land all went to Nathaniel. Does anyone know where this Daniel lived and whether he had a family? For example, could he be the Daniel Sweet who married Ethelenah Carpenter and settled in what became Glocester? If so, is there any proof? John Chandler

    3. John: I would like a copy of this James Sweet's will. The Daniel you speak of, I have married to Ethelenah Carpenter.I have him the son of Philp. Source: Salt Lake film # 0385003, Descendants of James Sweet. Daniel was made freeman of Glocester in 1708. He was Constable in the town of Providence in 1728; from records of Colonial Rhode Island vol. 4 pg.38. He was married to Ethelannah Carpenter abt 1702; from Vital records and Carpenter genealogy. Timothy Carpenter gave Daniel "power of Attorney" in the town of Providence in 1722/3, and in his will he mentions his grandson Philip Sweet. I see I may have another mistake to correct in my Sweet files.
