Surnames: Sweet Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HBRBAIB/1262 Message Board Post: The Pilot Newspaper for Wednesday, August 21, 1811 for Cazenovia, Madison County, N.Y. contains the following Item "MARRIED-On Sunday evening the 14th inst. by Ebenr. Lyon, Esq. Mr. John Lyon to Miss Lucinda Sweet, all of this town." Can anyone provide any information on either of these two individuals. The John Lyons that appear in the Federal Census 1820-1850 for Madison County N.Y. don't really seem to fit that well. There are several Sweets in the area but have'nt found a tie with Lucinda yet.
