Dorcas was living in Seneca and Wayne county New York between 1820-1842. Dorcas married first John Clark abt 1820-21. They had son Henry D. Clark in Lodi, Seneca County NY in 1822. A daughter Sophia W. Clark was born in 1825 according to Seneca Co, Ohio history in Rensselaer Co.,NY. John Clark and Dorcas moved to Lyons ,Wayne county between 1822-26. John then died and Dorcas married Elijah Lake from Romulus, Seneca County by 1830. By 1840 they were living in Junius, Seneca County NY. In 1842 they moved to Wyandot County, Ohio. If Dorcas was the daughter of one of the Sweet's living in Seneca County by 1820, she would have been the daughter of Charles, James, Jonathon, or Nicholas. Re: 1820 census all had daughter in her age group. Dorcas was born abt 1800-03. Fayette,Seneca co,NY 1820 census has a James Sweet and John Clark living a couple houses apart. Does anyone have any insight? I would appreciate any h! elp I can get. Thanks,Kim

I just checked my Handy Book for Genealogists (from Everton Publishers in Logan, UT) and Wyandot Co., Ohio Probate Judge has death records from 1845-1908 and burial records for the same period. Maybe you'll get lucky and find a death record (with parents names?) on Dorcas. Address in my 1991 version Handy Book has the following address: Wyandot County County Courthouse Upper Sandusky, OH 43351 419-294-1432 Many area codes have changed since 1991 so phone no. may not be accurate.
