Hi John, Is this "lineup" correct? Did any of George S. Sweet's brothers have a James that might have been mine? If so, dates please. Also how about his grandchildren? The only clue I have is that my grandmother saved a newspaper obit in which the ink has eaten into the paper but I think the date written is June 1827: "At Middletown on Saturday evening last, Mrs. Fanny Sweet, wife of Capt. George S. Sweet, and daughter of the late Paul Wightman, aged 37 years" I assume that is my line. My gg gf James might have crawled from under a rock for all the clues I have found. According to cards sent me by Violet Kettle, ancestors of Geo. Smith Sweet are as follows, starting with 1st gen. in America: John James Benoni James James Jr. Samuel AND George Smith Sweet who had 4 children with his 1st wife Mary Wightman/Whitman (sister of Fanny, 2nd wife) Issue: Oliver m 12-29-1822 Sarah Gould; Benjamin m 11-7-1881 George m ?10-16 Albert m ?10-16 Mary d 5-3-1824 age 15 Prov.
