August 9, 1850 Perry Twp, Brown, Ohio Roll: M432_662 Page 316 D625 F628 Enumerator John G Marshall SWEET James 68 PA Farmer 846 Margaret 29 KY William S 11 OH John D 7 OH Elizabeth 5 OH Lucy A 3 OH The AIS index lists this surname as LUCET, however a close examination of the enumerator’s script shows all capital “L”’s to be different from this one and the same as each other. The Enumerator’s “T”’s and “S”’s are both close to each other in style and both bear a strong resemblence to the first letter in this surname, so it is this transcriber’s opinion that the LUCET listing is in error. In this same township in 1840 is a James SWAT according to the AIS index. The image on the 1840 index could be SWEET. The individual is in the right age group to be the same as the 1850 Census and the 1840 contains two individuals in the right sex and age group to be Margaret and William. County: Brown; State: Ohio; Year: 1840; Roll: M704_379; Page: 338 On November 16, 1839 a James SWEET married a Margaret CUNNINGHAM in Brown County. The 1860 Census shows Margaret, William and Ann (Lucy) as SWEET. CUNNINGHAM Martha J 30 KY
