My third geat grandfather was Stephen Sweet Davis born 1821 in Fredonia, Chautauqua Co, NY and died 1864 in Hume, NY. His parents were Anna Mosher Davis born 1792-93 in Washington Co., NY and died (I have two dates and locations for her death) 1. Tombstone-died Jan. 12, 1843 in Hume, NY 2. Famly records-died Feb. 12, 1844 in Aurora(East Aurora), Erie Co., NY. Anna's husband was Benjamin West Davis born 1784-86 and died June 21, 1863 Hume, NY. Anna Mosher Davis was the daughter of Jabez Mosher Jr.(1759-1851 in MI) and Abagail Deake/Dake(1765 in Hopkinton, RI-1828 in Aurora, Erie Co.,NY). Abagail's parents were Charles Deake(1738-1803) aand Anna GOULD(1741-1828). I have always wondered where Stephen Davis got the middle name SWEET and now believe it was a surname on his mother's side(Anna). Alot of the Moshers, Davis and Gould's went to MI. My Jabez ! died there at 93. Do you have any info on Benjamin Davis.
